The Round Table

March 17, 2024 14:00

🗡️ In the Middle Ages, everyone’s place was determined by their rank, from one end of the rectangular table to the other. However, round tables began to make their appearance, following the great popularity of King Arthur’s knights. Lancelot, Gauvain and Perceval were the talk of the town! Do you know the legend that tells the origin of the Round Table? One day, seven princes and their 700 knights started a violent fight for the best seats and finest morsels at Arthur’s table. Enraged, the king had the men responsible for the brawl beheaded, cut off their wives’ noses and ordered a circular table to avoid any precedence. A table at which there were no place of honor: knights would be seated all around it, their names engraved on each place. Only one seat with no inscription: the perilous one, left vacant in memory of Judas and reserved to best knight - the one who would bring back the Holy Grail... Anyone beware not to sit there without being pure enough! You would be swallowed down in the depths of the earth 😱
