🎨 The world of the table never ceases to inspire artists whose works question the reign of consumption, abundance and pleasure. Whether it's Joel Otterson's colorful glasses transformed into chandeliers, or Ann Carrington's silver spoons arranged in metallic bouquets, the object comes out of our home to become a work of art! With its explosive colors, the kitschy images of Maurizio Cattelan impose the reign of appearance. Chris Antemann's figurines are a parody of 18th century fêtes galantes reminding us that the pleasures of the flesh are never far away. Daniel Spoerri's trap paintings, which freeze the remains of meals, bear witness to a way of life. As for Grayson Perry's tapestry, it makes the family meal the central subject of our relationship to society. The transformation of daily life is also of particular interest. From a trivial place, the kitchen in glass beads by Liza Lou becomes a work to contemplate. Sometimes, the beautiful is mixed with the strange as with Genesis Bellanger where the objects resemble us 🤔
