Caring for your porcelain

10 March, 2024 14:00

🍽️ Here are a few care tips to enjoy it every day: Oven? Porcelain is fired at 1400°C, so the 300°C of a regular oven cannot damage it! But it doesn’t take kindly to sudden temperature changes, so avoid passing It from cold to hot and vice versa. Microwaves? No problem, except for pieces decorated with gold or platinum. Dishwasher? Happily, by choosing a low-temperature program and a small amount of detergent, but beware of shocks when positioning your plates. For your grandmother’s porcelain, prefer hand-washing with the soft side of the sponge: antique pieces are more fragile. If the gold or platinum of your decor tarnishes, pamper your piece with a soft cloth and a few drops of silver polish. There is nothing like frequent use to preserve its shine! Last but not least, to protect your decor, remember to slip a doufline or a sheet of paper towel between each plate while storing them.
